Radiation and biological events are some of the most serious scenarios that our region can face. The Coalition works closely with healthcare partners to develop preparedness strategies for hazard specific incidents.

Planning Initiatives

Pandemic Influenza Response Planning

Public Health – Seattle & King County, in collaboration with the Coalition’s participating healthcare entities, and preparedness partners, created the Pandemic Influenza Response plan to outline decision-making, roles and responsibilities, and Public Health interventions in a pandemic flu outbreak.

Radiological Incident Planning

The Coalition is working with healthcare organizations and partners to develop capabilities for responding to radiologic incidents.

This includes working with healthcare facilities that are members of the national Radiation Injury Treatment Network (RITN) to develop regional plans for situations in which our healthcare system would receive an influx of patients with radiation exposure or other marrow toxic injuries.
