The Coalition has worked with healthcare organizations to promote the development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) and Mutual Aid Agreements. These agreements help create standardization for preparedness and response activities and facilitate the sharing of staff, equipment and/or other resources in the event of a disaster.
Hospice and Palliative Care Comfort Kit MOU
This MOU outlines the roles and responsibilities of Public Health – Seattle & King County and palliative care agencies in the purchasing of comfort kits.
The addition of these stored comfort care kits increases the level of palliative care medications on hand, ensuring a greater regional supply when there is a need.

The Hospice and Palliative Care MOU outlines that signatories agree to cooperate and collaborate with one another, as circumstances permit, on various operational issues, in order to provide the best possible care and service to the residents of King County.

This MOA provides a mechanism for Washington State Department of Health licensed home health or home-care agencies to share resources and services should the situation occur in which a signing party is unable to provide in-home healthcare services to all or a portion of their patients/clients, during an emergency or disaster.

King County Long Term Care Mutual Aid Plan for Evacuation and Resources/Assets
The Coalition has worked collaboratively with local Long Term Care agencies to create a mutual aid plan regarding evacuation and resource sharing.
This agreement will support the movement of patients from an evacuating facility to other Long Term Care agencies in the region, and the sharing of resources, equipment, and staff.

King County Regional Medical Evacuation and Patient Tracking Mutual Aid Plan
Working collaboratively with local hospitals, the Coalition has created a mutual aid plan that supports the movement of patients from an evacuating facility to other hospitals in the region.
The plan provides a mechanism for signatories to share resources, staff and equipment in the event that one, or several, hospitals in the region need to be evacuated.
